Thames200Ultra Race Winners

Congratulations to ‘The Chelmsford Empire Strikes Back’ team consisting of Tim Gannicott-Porter, George Hampton, Cassian Payne, James Russell, William Stroud, James Walkinton and Peter Wilkes who won the Thames Ultra Race. The team set a new race record of 15:31:12 despite the flow on the river Thames being very slow and the water level being low which meant the portages were high.

Also competing was Sienna Payne in the Women’s All Star team ‘No Buoys Allowed’ which came 4th.

The Chelmsford Really Average Paddlers Team consisting of James Benson, Paul Blackmore, Chris Bunyon. Tim Chamberlin, Mark DeVille, Darren Harvey, Steve Hernaman, Gayle McKeand, Graham McKeand, Alex Stratford, Martin Stroud and Sean Woodley also took part and were pleased to finish the race in under 24 hours.
