Touring in a canoe or kayak enables the paddler to take in the countryside and get close to nature, in addition to getting out into the great outdoors.
We have 2 regular touring groups who usually paddle from the club and either paddle up river to the 3 arches or down river towards Papermill Lock. There is the Wednesday morning group meet and the Saturday morning group. The groups are friendly and our main aim is to have fun and socialise whilst paddling. Paddles usually end with a cuppa and cake/biscuits. If you are new to touring and are a member and wish to come along either speak to one of the touring committee or just turn up to either session. We also aim to provide progression on the Paddle UK Explore award to club members that wish to expand their paddling experience on different rivers with different craft. We are quite informal on our tours allowing you to move at the level you wish.
